Nia Janis

 

Nia Janis is a founding Director of Playful Productions. Her experience as a producer and general manager spans the West End, Broadway, collaborations with subsidised houses, and UK and international touring. Current and recent Executive Producer work includes Moulin Rouge! The Musical and MJ in the West End and Wild Rose at the Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh.

Nia is a longtime collaborator with director Matthew Warchus. Most recently they have produced the musical Pride at the Dorfman Theatre in London and Sherman Theatre in Cardiff. Other current and recent work as a producer includes All My Sons, Inter Alia, Groundhog Day and A Little Life. General management includes Wicked, Moulin Rouge! The Musical and Come From Away. She has overseen dozens of productions including Kinky Boots, Shrek The Musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, American Buffalo and The Audience.

Nia’s early career included producing on the fringe in London and Edinburgh, production management at Theatre Royal Haymarket, work in the technical department at the RSC, and roles in the management and artistic departments of the Royal Court. She has served on the Society of London Theatre, Paines Plough and Bush Theatre boards and is a member of the Women’s Health Committee.
