Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Story to open in the West End in 2021 starring Arinzé Kene

We are thrilled to announce the world premiere of a brand new musical which tells the story of iconic artist Bob Marley. Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Story which will begin previews at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue on Saturday 6th February 2021, which would have been Marley’s 76th birthday.

Brought to the stage by a multi award-winning team, Lee Hall’s (Billy Elliot The Musical, Network) book takes direct inspiration from Marley’s visionary lyrics to tell his extraordinary story. The production will be directed by Dominic Cooke (Follies, Clybourne Park) and star Arinzé Kene (Misty, Girl from the North Country). With unprecedented access to Marley’s catalogue, the musical will feature Marley’s greatest hits played live on stage including No Woman, No Cry, Exodus, Three Little Birds, Get Up, Stand Up and many more.
