Playful Productions general managed and tour booked the first ever UK tour of Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage, written by Eleanor Bergstein, script writer of the phenomenally successful 1987 film. The tour opened at the Bristol Hippodrome on 1 September 2011, before visiting venues in Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, Aberdeen, Southampton, Milton Keynes, Leeds, Birmingham, Norwich, Sunderland, Liverpool, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Plymouth, Nottingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Canterbury and Woking, before triumphantly returning to Manchester where the tour finished on 15 June 2013.

The record-breaking tour, which was seen by over one million people, was directed by Sarah Tipple, with choreography by Kate Champion, set design by Stephen Brimson Lewis, music supervision by Conrad Helfrich, lighting design by Tim Mitchell, sound design by Bobby Aitken, video and projection design by Jon Driscoll and costume design by Jennifer Irwin.

The production was produced by Karl Sydow and Joye Entertainment, in association with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions.
