2015 Olivier Awards Winners
We are thrilled that Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies, Wicked and Blithe Spirit were amongst the winners at the 2015 Olivier Awards on Sunday.
Nathaniel Parker received the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Christopher Oram received Best Costume Design for Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies at the Aldwych Theatre. Mike Poulton’s adaptations of Hilary Mantel’s Man Booker Prize winning novels are currently playing at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway.
Wicked, which Playful general manage at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, won the This Morning Audience Award, the only award to be voted for by the public. Emma Hatton performed ‘The Wizard and I’ at the Covent Garden Piazza, broadcast on ITV as part of the highlights programme that evening, following her performance of Defying Gravity on the roof of ITV studios for This Morning earlier in the week.
Dame Angela Lansbury won her first Olivier Award for her first West End role in nearly 40 years in Blithe Spirit directed by Michael Blakemore, which Playful general managed at the Gielgud Theatre. After collecting her award, Dame Angela said that she felt “like a million dollars”.
